Marcel Vogel, like many DJs, found his route to the turntables through a love of hip hop and later house. But if you listen to his productions and especially releases on his own Lumberjacks In Hell (which hwas launched in 2013), he has a big love for disco and soul. That helped to gather a steady of enthusiastic fans all around the globe

“Close The Door” is taken from “Fuck The Bass Up” EP, which in Marcel’s own words concluding a series of 12”s for his label. On these records he collaborated with a wide set of musicians, most notably the keyboard player Tim Jules. Listening to this soul sampling house groover you most likely remember the US house records of mid 90’s: carefree, full of fun and happiness.
