9th October sees illustrious DJ/producer Darius Syrossian release his first solo EP on Mar-T’s esteemed label, Wow! Recordings, entitled “Revolution” EP. Besides DJing and producing Darius Syrossian is also a label boss and radio host. Having served 14 years in a record shop, he has the grass roots knowledge and understanding that has helped him rise to the very top of the global pile. Having played gigs at every major club and festival in every continent, he has also produced & released music on a whole host of the biggest record labels out there, with his most recent work in 2016 appearing on taste making labels such as Leena, Material, Definition:Music, Rimming Records and his own Do Not Sleep.
Today’s premiere is Wow! Recordings head honchos’ Luca Donzelli & Mar-T remix of the first track on the EP, an energetic Tech-House groover “Applebum”. Original mix uses a sample from A Tribe Called Quest’s cult classic, “Bonita Applebum”, as well as the remix. Donzelli & Mar-T choose to loop the Tribe sample throughout, adding several percussive elements and a killer breakdown mid-way through.
