Cuartero is a name familiar to Wow: his first release on Mar-T’s imprint came out back in 2012, and since then has offered up a number of stellar tracks/remixes. In 2015 he received DJ Award for Best Newcomer, and since then put out big releases on the likes of Hot Creations, Desolat, Moon Harbour and Viva. “Rate 25” sees him continue his fine form.
Remix on the release comes from the US dance heavyweight Harry Romero, whose name is well known to house music lovers since the mid 90’s. He’s always been producing harder edge tribal tracks even when these featured soulful vocals. Last year he was actively producing and remixing again, and his re-rub of “Rate 25” added certain New York vibe to Cuartero’s track. Remix seeing him omit some of the original’s scattered effects and replace them with a tight selection of Tech-House tones over the fierce four-to-the-floor rhythm.
