Who can do a techno track better than a native Berliner? As they say there’s no place like home. This is just about Daniel Boon, who was born and since his earliest years has been soaking up the vibes of Berlin, the world’s techno (and probably all other electronic music) capital.
Boon is responsible for numerous parties in the late 90s – mid 2000’s, including club nights in the legendary old club Tresor. He isn’t a beginner in record label business: in 2005 along with Oliver Tatsch he founded Ostfunk Records (one of Berlin’s leading techno imprints) and runs his own Neuhain (this title echoes the name of the legendary city’s techno-Mecca). Next Monday Daniel Boon will release his great debut album “Boon & Bane” and here’s a premiere of a track “Grow Glow” from it.
The flowing percussion in “Grow Glow” is warm and expertly laid, deep pulsating bass plays with anxious synths on a breakdown, and then giving a classy late 90’s techno rolling vibe accompanied by different percussion textures. A slightly deep melody gives this dancefloor ready track a good depth. This is a kind of a techno production you could be listening on repeat for hours.
