Outstrip is a duo from Ukraine who recently released a deeper tech-house “Podval EP” at Italian label Frole. This is a solid four-tracker with two ultimate dance floor winners: opening “Kardan” has an incredibly catchy bass line, moving percussion, smart vocal sample and intriguing deep stabs, while closing track “Zalip” sound a bit techier with different level pads creating a spooky ambience. Title work “Podval” is the housiest here, “Truba” uses a minimal approach. For those who doesn’t know Russian which used in track titles: “kardan” means cardan, “podval” – basement, “truba” – pipe, while “zalip” could be translated as stuck on.
